Part Time, 12 Hour, Third Shift
BHCOR-Cor PCU Dept. I Corbin, KY

ICU CCU, Critical Care is a 10-bed unit providing critical care for patients with both medical and surgical diagnosis. Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess the ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives

Job Description:

  • Complete/document assessments and changes.

  • Update care plans each shift with measurable goals.

  • Evaluate interventions and patient responses.

  • Develop education and discharge plans.

  • Communicate status and ensure accurate documentation.

  • Deliver care per policy and physician orders.

  • Implement care and education plans.

  • Perform procedures and handle emergencies.

  • Assist staff, direct activities, and monitor compliance.

  • Facilitate patient flow.

  • Delegate tasks appropriately.

  • Act in emergent situations.

  • Use SBAR/ARCC for communication.

  • Identify and address care needs promptly.

  • Promote safety and attention to detail.

  • Lead and promote teamwork.

  • Set priorities, organize workload.

  • Provide accurate reports and delegate tasks.

  • Act as a role model and resource.

  • Support orientation and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.

  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.

  • Basic Life Support is required. New employees requiring CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association should receive (CPR) training within the first week of orientation
