We Require
Three years of related experience researching and analyzing crime-related data/information Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law/legal studies, psychology, statistics, or a closely related field Bachelor's degree or master's degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, social science, or a related field may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis. Completed 30 semester hours of crime analysis training or post-secondary education from an accredited organization or university may substitute for one year of the experience or education, and additional experience working directly in a crime analysis unit may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year for year basis

Valid Arizona Driver's License upon hire Must obtain ACJIS Terminal Operator Certification within six months of hire or promotion and maintain certification throughout the course of this assignment May require on-call/overtime availability to provide a response to after-hour inquiries and notification alerts. May be required to testify in court proceedings May be required to travel to perform certain work functions Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Under the direction of the Strategic Investigations Bureau Lieutenant and Crime Analysis and Research Unit Supervisor, supervises the Criminal Intelligence Analysts, Interns, and Volunteers assigned to the Crime Analysis and Research Unit in research, analysis, evaluation, and correlation of criminal information and intelligence Direct Criminal Intelligence Analysts and Criminal Intelligence Specialists in completing analytical assignments to case investigations, and/or requests for assistance by prioritizing the collection of data, monitoring progress, and work products Provide senior-level over-watch of products produced by Criminal Intelligence Analysts and Criminal Intelligence Specialists for completeness, quality, and compliance with standards Perform the most complex, sensitive, and difficult work in crime and intelligence analysis for the (CARU) Use considerable initiative and independent judgment in the performance of highly detailed data analytics Serve as the senior intelligence collector, providing leadership and guidance, supporting requests for information from Division Chiefs, Bureau Chiefs, and External Law Enforcement Agencies Assist the Crime Analysis and Research Unit Supervisor in planning workload, prioritizing analysis tasks, and preparing products while identifying needed resources Compile critical strategic reports using multiple sources outlining criminal threat, and provide data interpretation to leadership and staff Gather information from various internal and external resources while utilizing crime and intelligence analysis techniques to identify prolific offenders throughout Maricopa County Act as senior trainer supporting analysts, interns, divisions, and bureaus to ensure appropriate use of work products Assist the Crime Analysis and Research Unit Supervisor in the development, procurement, maintenance, improvement, and administration of CARU databases and software Prepare and validate written CARU products that include assessments, presentations, and briefings to senior-level leadership Serve as the lead analyst for assigned projects, collaborating with other staff members, and drafting analytical products based on resulting research and analysis Participate in MCAO Bureau staff meetings, law enforcement briefings, intelligence sharing forums, and citizen/community meetings to gather and provide information related to crime patterns, trends, and problem offenders within the County Provide input on crime and intelligence analysis issues and trends to senior staff and leaders using multiple sources that include crime and intelligence training, meetings, and publications Direct the activities of the CARU in the supervisor's absence Provide senior-level analytics and input on special projects
