We have an exciting Multimodal Export Planner opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. In this highly impactful role, you will be a key member of the export team. The Multimodal Export Planner is responsible for the logistics coordination for all frozen and chilled export shipments through various modes of transportation. Equipment booking, load track & trace, invoice payment, issue resolution and building carrier relationships are required to ensure export loads are delivered to customers around the world.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the best method of transportation based on origin and destination specifics by evaluating price, available equipment, transit time, and service requests.
  • Receive and review booking confirmations from ocean carriers for accuracy.
  • Coordinate and monitor dray and trucking companies, equipment issues, and cross-dock facilities.
  • Provide track and trace rail and container movements to ensure shipment is progressing as planned.
  • Communicate any logistics changes or updates to the export documentation team, sales, and country liaisons.
  • Manage container allocations and chilled pool containers inventory.
  • Verify rates, audit, and approve invoices based on negotiated rates.
  • Review and approve invoices as well as resolve disputes and claims.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required:



  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year university or college, an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years demonstrated experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in export shipping, booking & tendering loads, and track & trace duties required.
  • Knowledge of transporting international refrigerated goods is required.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills needed.
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends on a call rotation
  • Good critical thinking and judgement skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and create content that is easily interpreted by a diverse group of people, such as employees, supervisors, and senior management.


Preferred:



  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and Tableau.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.


  • Experience using AS400



SCHEDULE



  • Monday- Friday 7:30 AM- 4:30 PM
  • Weekend on-call rotation
