The Corrections Technician is responsible for processing and caring for inmates housed in the Wentzville Police Jail. This role requires a strong commitment to professionalism, respect, and adherence to departmental policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inmate Processing: Book inmates, take pictures and fingerprints, and arrange vehicle releases.
- Inmate Care: Schedule showers and meals, administer medications, and purchase supplies.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all city, department, and division policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Professionalism: Maintain a positive and productive environment, treating all inmates with respect and professionalism

Job Qualifications Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.
- Associate or Technical degree required.
- High school diploma along with related professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience preferred.
- MULES Certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment required.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Must pass a comprehensive background investigation.
