Who We Are We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport's growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open. The RoleThe Wheelchair Tennis Intern will be an essential part of the wheelchair tennis team, supporting key grassroots initiatives and contributing to projects that offer meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. This internship provides the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of adaptive sports, gain exposure to working with individuals with disabilities, and build skills relevant to future roles within the USTA. As part of the team, you will assist with in-person wheelchair tennis events throughout the summer, contribute to research and analysis that support program growth, and collaborate with various USTA business units to advance the sport nationally. You will play an active role in initiatives related to Disability Pride Month, high school tennis inclusion, and sport chair maintenance.
    Support planning and execution of in-person wheelchair tennis events
  • Contribute to disability sport initiatives during July's Disability Pride Month
  • Analyze high school tennis participation and assist with evaluating the National Grant Process
  • Help develop a Sport Chair Maintenance Program to support athletes and local providers
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations to help grow wheelchair tennis opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance grassroots initiatives
Program details:
  • 8-week program from June 9 through August 11
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM ET
  • Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site at our Orlando office.
  • Compensation: $16.00 per hour
Who You Are
  • Experience or interest in data analysis
  • Passion for adaptive sports or wheelchair athletics
  • Willingness to take initiative and lead project components
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Curious, proactive, and excited to contribute to meaningful inclusion efforts
