About the role

Inside Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Proactively contact existing and past Sumter-area customers to generate new and repeat business opportunities (containerized waste, AEF, tire).
  • Work with the sales team to grow and nurture growth opportunities uncovered.
  • Conduct needs assessments, present solutions, and follow up on quotes and proposals, in conjunction with the sales team.
  • Leverage CRM tools to track outreach, opportunities, and activity metrics.
  • Maintain deep familiarity with product offerings, pricing, and customer buying history.
  • Build strong relationships focused on service, reliability, and growth.
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for assigned customers, helping maintain regular touchpoints, follow-ups, and communication throughout the year to strengthen relationships and prevent gaps in service or attention.
  • Support SSMs by handling inside-sales style outreach, including re-engaging former customers, following up on inactive opportunities, and assisting with customer requests that do not require a facility site visit.
  • Help ensure a high-quality customer experience by staying close to account activity, identifying concerns early, and working with Sales and Operations to resolve issues quickly and professionally.

Account Management

  • Serve as the primary Sales Project Manager for the former Bill Phillips' accounts portfolio.
  • Work closely with sales team and customers to ensure accurate pricing, communication and delivery timelines.
  • Drive revenue, growth, and retention by maintaining consistent engagement and supporting long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within the legacy account base, particularly with transportation and logistics.
  • Act as a safeguard for these accounts by helping ensure processes are followed, documentation is maintained, and operational expectations are clearly aligned between Sales and Operations.
  • Work alongside Sales Solutions Managers to ensure these legacy accounts are managed consistently and correctly as they evolve, grow, or change service needs.
  • Assist SSMs with pricing structures, purchase order needs, daily inventory management, printing labels & manifests, accruals report management, and quarterly customer review and analysis of service performance and expectations.

Project Management Support

  • Partner with, organize and support the Sumter sales team on active and upcoming project management responsibilities as previously handled prior to your departure.
  • Ensure proper documentation, timely communication, follow-through, and customer updates (proper paperwork, transportation coordination, delivery slots, etc.)
  • Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities in project workflow.
  • Assist with invoice validation by confirming invoices align with purchase orders, contracts, and agreed-upon pricing, and help resolve discrepancies before they escalate to the customer.
  • Identify and manage required customer paperwork and special requirements (such as invoicing formats, approvals, reporting, or compliance documentation for customers like Honeywell, Milliken, etc.).

Sales Growth & Business Development

  • Work with the sales team to build and manage a proactive pipeline of opportunities across past and new customers.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, production, and customer service to ensure seamless execution.
  • Weekly discussions with Ashleigh on outreach, opportunities, project status, and revenue impact.
  • Contribute to sales strategy and forecasting discussions for the Sumter facility.
  • Provide sales support to help bridge the gap for different systems' quotes to match...for example, assuring proposals in EW ties identically to NetSuite/Salesforce proposals.
