What to Expect

Join the electric revolution as a Power Module Engineering Technician at Tesla! You will support power module design, incorporating packaging assembly and facilitate design integration and test. Your work will have a direct impact on the future of sustainable energy, and we're looking for a motivated and skilled Technician.


What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirement and develop power packaging solutions that meet those needs
  • Validate mechanical assembly process optimized for power modules. Document, measurement of thermal, mechanical, assembly tolerance stacks for manufacturability
  • Conduct research and analysis through builds and test to identify new packaging materials and technologies
  • Utilize drawings to assemble batch builds for testing validation, detailed documentation, collaborate results with design team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to packaging design and assembly
  • Support Lab assembly equipment and mechanical tooling included preventative maintenance and repair
  • Compliance with clean room environment includes hair net, gloves, shoe covers and other personal protective equipment protocols

What You'll Bring
  • Associate's degree, or equivalentexperience
  • 3+ years of full-time industry experience operating and maintaining specialized semiconductor and power module assembly equipment, such as wire bonder, die attach, and vacuum reflow soldering systems
  • Assembly experience, soldering of PCBA and devices using proper ESD practices
  • Documentation and compliance: detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and test data, while following safety protocols (e.g., cleanroom procedures) and quality standards
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA or similar), ability to use drawings and prints to build and document assemblies
  • Broad range of assembly tooling knowledge, including power tools, hand tools including electrical assembly crimping and fastening processes
  • Material science knowledge, pertaining to materials used in electronics packaging (ceramics, attaches, encapsulation, wire bonding, adhesives, etc.)
  • Test chamber and machine operation, capable of identifying anomalies, detailed documentation of the event and enact diagnosis and repair solutions with the design team

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
