Associate Vice President, Patient Financial Services

Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for an Associate Vice President, Patient Financial Services to join our team! This remote position requires residency in KY or IN.

Responsible for providing overall operational leadership for the Patient Financial Services (PFS) and
Single Business Office (SBO) departments at Baptist Health, including process management, personnelmanagement and budgeting. Effectively oversees, directs and controls the functions of the PFS and SBOwithin the operational and financial parameters as set forth by the Baptist Healthcare System, its policiesand procedures, regulatory requirements and state and federal law.

Serves as the senior subject matterexpert on hospital billing, ASC billing, technical denials, hospital/physician/patient cash posting, refunds,credit balances, customer service, bad debt, and collections functions as well as interaction with otherrelated departments and functions. Ensures that the privacy and confidentiality of patient information ismaintained.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field such as Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.
• 10+ years related experience in healthcare billing and revenue cycle operations. Experience should include financial compliance auditing, accounts receivable resolution, cash flow, billing and customer service.
• In lieu of 10 years experience, candidate may present with 5+ years of experience with one of the following:
  • A Master's Degree in business or health related field plus progressive leadership experience.
  • A Lean Six Sigma green or black belt plus management experience within a similar setting of size, volume and organizational structure, with a preference of managing large teams.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Must possess strong presentation skills that effectively communicate with different audience levels. Familiarity with computerized applications is essential.
• Able to articulate challenges and to be proactive and aggressive in thinking about new ways to do things and creating enthusiasm for new initiatives.
• Proven experience in leading long-term complex projects to successful conclusions.
• Effective third-party vendor management.
