Description
We are seeking a 508 compliance tester who has experience with Technical Writing. If this is you we would like to talk to you! Section 508 Tester responsibilities:
- Plan, create and execute test cases for Section 508 Compliance testing.
- Record problems/defects identified during testing and retest problems after they are resolved by the development team.
- Regularly update technical and business teams as to plans, progress, and issues.
- Verify compliance with 508 accessibility standards Identify and suggest potential solutions for accessibility barriers based on the WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 standards as well as compliance with the Section 508 and other accessibility.
Technical Writer responsibilities:
- Writes a variety of technical manuals, plans, and Standard Operating Procedures for documentation of a wide range of uses ensuring content is of high quality, conforms to standards, and is easily understandable.
- Interviews program managers and other technical personnel to collect technical and methodology information and subsequently incorporate that information into writing technical and non-technical documents.
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
- Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by others.
- Establish the electronic file structure, archive, and back-up capability and procedures for all documentation and materials on the team's server system.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Section 508 Compliance testing.
- Must have working knowledge of and experience with standard 508 testing tools (i.e. JAWS, Web Accessibility Tool Bar, Inspect. Etc.) JAWS preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined measurement criteria.
- Knowledge of Defect Management processes. Must have prior experience in Manual/Functional Testing.
- Excellent English language, grammar, and spelling skills for writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Skilled at organizing and translating information into clear written documentation; articulating complex concepts and processes in writing.
- Proven ability to effectively research subject matter.
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle, Agile, mobile, and web development.
- US Citizenship or permanent resident and ability to obtain public trust clearance.
