As the "face of Airgas", the Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company provided
straight or box truck. The Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Life-Saving Deliveries: Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed medical gases (e.g., Oxygen, Nitrogen, etc.) to critical customer sites.

  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR), FDA regulations for medical gases, and all DOT/FMCSA requirements.

  • Customer Partnership: Serve as a reliable partner to our healthcare clients. Listen to and help resolve service inquiries, providing timely communication back to management or the sales team.

  • Documentation Mastery: Accurately complete and reconcile load manifests, ensuring all required vehicle and delivery documents are in order for seamless compliance.

  • Equipment Operations: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Safely operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts) on the dock or in the plant as needed.

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.

  • Valid USDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (card).

  • Hazmat Endorsement (H or X Endorsement).

  • Ability to operate a vehicle with an air brake system (no air brake restrictions on CDL).

  • Physical strength to handle loads up to 60 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Willingness to engage in tasks involving climbing, balancing, kneeling, and other physical activities.

Perferred

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school or a combination of driving and prior Airgas specific experience.

  • Prior experience in the gas, welding and safety supply industries preferred.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
