Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Medical Patrol Driver in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol healthcare locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your presence and customer service will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while you remain visible throughout assigned areas. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact as part of a caring, reliable, and innovative team. This position requires a valid driver's license.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing Allied Universal protocols and training.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Assist with access control by verifying identification and/or credentials as required by site policies.
  • Provide support during emergency situations, including assisting with evacuations and/or directing first responders as needed.
  • Maintain a professional presence and uphold Allied Universal standards while interacting with all individuals on site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • You must be able to restrain individuals as required in a hospital environment.
  • You must have 2 or more years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • You must have 5 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Hospital-specific vaccines are required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
