Position Overview

We are searching for a well-organized, reliable engineering/IT technician to join our company. The engineering/IT technician's responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electronics and information systems equipment, reading manuals and installing new equipment, performing routine servicing and inspections, assisting with training, recruitment, and electronics and information systems upgrades, and reporting to the supervisor. You should be able to provide excellent customer service and manage electronics and information systems and equipment efficiently.

To be successful as an engineering/IT technician, you should demonstrate strong mechanical skills and enjoy performing tasks with your hands. Outstanding engineering/IT technicians can use a wide range of resources to solve problems and feel comfortable working alone and in a team.



Responsibilities

    Assembling, installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic components and systems.
  • Sourcing or fabricating replacement parts for electronic and information systems.
  • Implementing DISA STIGs on various IT equipment.
  • Running security scans and mitigate finds with DoD ACAS scanner.
  • Liaising with Supervisors and clients to discuss work schedules and time and material cost estimates.
  • Providing training and supervision for new technicians.
  • Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing equipment.
  • Performing equipment demonstrations and drawing up training manuals wherever required.
  • Interpreting drawings, training manuals, and instructions to perform duties.
  • Following written, verbal, and telephonic instructions.
  • Attending regular training workshops and reporting to the supervisor.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Degree or completed coursework in networking, engineering or electronics. Military experience or other experience is acceptable.
  • Demonstratable knowledge and experience with 2-way radio communications to include UHF (DoD TACSAT), VHF, HF communication systems.
  • Use of powered and manual handtools required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • A Relevant certificate or license may be required (IT Certs and HAM radio license).
  • Hands-on experience with Codan HF Transceivers a plus.
  • Demonstratable knowledge and experience with DoD's ACAS scanner.
  • Demonstratable knowledge and experience with basic IP networking including configuration and troubleshooting of computers, routers, switches, firewalls.


Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Acitve Secret clearance
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel
