A Brief Overview
Provides mental health counseling and support services to children and adolescents and their families. Supports staff and programs of assigned clinic area. Provides consultative services to external agencies regarding the development, implementation and monitoring of services for children and adolescents and their families.

What you will do

  • In collaboration with other staff in assigned clinic area, provides information and support to families, inclusive of the following duties:
  • Provides clinical assessment to patients and/or families
  • Intervenes/treats patient and/or family-based on the psychosocial assessment providing age and developmentally appropriate counseling, treatment and resources as indicated.
  • Coordinates and facilitates effective parenting and psycho-educational groups for parents
  • Coordinates and facilitates therapeutic play groups for preschool, kindergarten and early school age children
  • Coordinates and facilitates psycho-educational and therapeutic support groups for children and adolescents
  • Encourages and utilizes feedback from patients, families and other staff to improve professional services. Evaluates the effectiveness of professional services and redefines goals or modalities as indicated. Organizes individual workload and sets priorities based on patient care needs and departmental standards. Meets workload standards for assigned areas.
  • Adheres to professional medical - legal reporting requirements. Seeks appropriate supervision on risk management issues.
  • Provides consultative services to external agencies, as requested including:
  • Assists in needs assessment for services for children, adolescents and families
  • Assists in development of systems and services for children, adolescents and families
  • Assists in implementation of services for children, adolescents and families
  • Monitors implementation and effectiveness of services for children, adolescents and families

Education Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Counseling, marriage and family therapy or similar field of study. Required

Experience Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years providing behavioral health care to children, adolescents and families Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in a hospital, health organization or mental health agency setting.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required

SALARY RANGE:

$74,250.00 - $94,660.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
