Location: Philadelphia, PA (Rittenhouse Square)

Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

A growing public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Staff Accountant to support a diverse mix of tax, accounting, and assurance engagements. This role offers hands-on experience, exposure to a wide variety of clients, and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced senior team members.

We are looking for someone who is eager to develop technically, take initiative, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Role Overview

The Staff Accountant will provide support across tax, bookkeeping, audit, and financial reporting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking broad experience and long-term career development within public accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior team members to support individual and business client accounts
  • Prepare and assist with tax planning for individuals, fiduciaries, partnerships, corporations, and nonprofits
  • Perform audit procedures and collaborate with audit teams on assurance engagements
  • Provide full-service bookkeeping for closely held businesses
  • Prepare and maintain client financial reports
  • Communicate with clients regarding tax notices and related issues


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA is preferred
  • Strong desire to develop tax, accounting, and assurance skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software; experience with QuickBooks and CCH ProSystem fx is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a busy team
  • Experience with taxation, assurance, and financial statement preparation
