Position: Senior Software Engineer

Duties: Prototype new features in the lab to identify and resolve potential issues ahead of broader implementation. Collaborate closely with Key Chipset R&D partner and Qualcomm to integrate CAT scenarios early in the lab to ensure early accessibility of the device to remote teams to facilitate timely regression testing. Support remote teams in debugging failures using internal UE debug tools such as QXDM, QCAL, PCAT, and QCAT. Accelerate Time to Market and achieve 100% coverage for AT&T and T-Mobile. Responsible for collaborative development with key customers to deliver work products associated with Anritsu's 5G carrier acceptance test products. Work closely with project management to coordinate engineer deliverables in alignment with operator and chipset partner priorities. Understand technical requirements to communicate and negotiate collaboration activities with chipset partners and execute the collaborations at partner lab. Work with key stakeholders and partners to remove impediments for the outsource team. Plan and track progress of activities in alignment with product goals. Deliver TC work product and execute regression and interoperability test plans in coordination with chipset partners. Debug integration issues, identify root cause and provide fix, involving international team as needed. Anticipate and resolve technical and non-technical impediments. Effective and timely communication of status and risks as liaison between stakeholder teams. Identify quality or systemic/process issues and propose improvements to stakeholders.

Education Required: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

Experience Required: 3 years of experience as Protocol Engineer, Testing Engineer, Product Support Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation

Special Requirements: Must have at least 3 years of prior work experience in each of the following:



  1. Developing Operator Acceptance Test (OAT) for Protocol applying LTE and NR radio protocols to development process using RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, and physical layer features and operations.
  2. Performing testcase development using at least two of the following key cellular features: VoLTE, VoNR, EPSFB, RTT/e911 calls, TCP/UDP data throughput FR1/FR2, SA/NSA, carrier aggregation, network slicing, NTN, and/or Redcap.
  3. Developing Operator Acceptance Test (OAT) for data performance applying LTE and NR physical layer protocols and using all of the following to optimize performance test cases to achieve targeted max performance KPIs for smartphone and redcap: PDCP, RLC, and MAC.
  4. Testing and troubleshoot Operator Acceptance Test (OAT) using the following tools: QXDM, ELT, and Wireshark.
  5. Collaborating with Qualcomm SD and validating tests on chipsets including gathering and negotiating requirements, and reviewing product delivery and quality results with the collaboration partner (QC).
  6. Performing feature verification on multimode stack UEs for 5G, 4G, or 3G/2G on ME7834NR system. Creating and maintaining test documentation including the test plans, test case and test reports.
  7. Test Automation using Android and AT Command interface to reduce overall test time and increase product value and efficiency.
  8. Working with international teams to track project advancement, address roadblocks, and offer remote system assistance for product delivery.


Position permits telecommuting: applicant may reside anywhere in U.S. and reports to Morgan Hill, CA office. Position requires up to 25% domestic travel. Any incurred business travel will be fully reimbursed by employer.

Salary: $187,741 to $250,000 per year
