Business Unit

Description: The TCG business that includes, PCB Mfg. ,Metal Fabrication, Backplanes, Machining & Energy business is currently based out of facilities in US , Mexico & Asia with potential expansion in EU. It provides a wide range of complex assemblies & enclosures for world's leading manufacturers within very diversified market sectors such as Aerospace & Defence, AI & Data Centres, Automotive & Industrial to name a few.

The opportunity is for a seasoned Projects Procurement Professional with a strong track record of success and sound techno-commercial foundation to manage Projects Procurement (eg Radiators, Heat Exchangers, Structurals, Fans, plumbing & other mechanicals assemblies & sub-assemblies) as well as Sourcing for Capex Outlay eg Automation for Metal Fabrication , Equipments for various PCB Mfg Processes as well as Testing. Objective is to create a differentiated value & deliver sustainable financials through a robust sourcing strategy, sound strategic supplier relationships , excellent contractuals & ongoing operational support.

Responsibilities: The Senior Supply Chain Manager (Project Procurement) is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution for major capital projects within direct & indirect procurement domain. This leader will bridge the gap between engineering, project management, operations and external suppliers to ensure that all materials, equipment, and services are procured on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The ideal candidate acts as a commercial steward for the project, managing complex contracts, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring seamless logistics from vendor fabrication to site installation.

Specific responsibilities will include:




  • The scope of the job is Global , spanning Sanmina's PCB & Mechanicals Mfg & Integration facilities in United States, Mexico, Europe & Asia.
  • Defining & developingSourcing Strategy for Projects Procurement of Equipments, Assemblies & Sub-Assemblies that are part of Product BOM and Capex for Mfg Equipments within PCB, Metal Fabrication, Machining & Energy business facilities.
  • Contributing significantly to developing URS (User Requirement Specifications) & Contractuals in consultation with Engineering, Production, Process, Program Management & Purchasing for Projects & Capex Procurement.
  • Developing and managing executive level engagement and relationships with existing & potential strategic suppliers as per business needs, technology roadmap and footprint of operations.
  • Assessing the capability gaps in existing supply chains and Identify & develop new suppliers to bridge those.
  • Owning the supplier selection, commercials including pricing & business award (sourcing) throughout multiple stages of business engagement viz. RFQ,NPI & Mass Pro, in case of new & existing customers.
  • In this regard, remaining engaged closely with quote and operations teams to provide them necessary guidance & direction.
  • Ensuring compliance of contracts & agreements e.g. NDA, PA, VMI etc. with the suppliers.
  • Conducting periodic business review with management of strategic suppliers for strengthening engagement, enhancing cost competitiveness & driving favorable terms
  • Periodically gathering, developing and sharing Procurement Intelligence on Market, Supply, Pricing aspects with Internal stakeholders
  • Depending upon nature & severity of escalations on supplier, supporting the internal stakeholders to resolve it.

Experience and

Qualities: The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:



  • Experience in working in multi-location manufacturing environment in North America with exposure to direct and indirect procurement.
  • Excellent communication (written & spoken) skills in English.
  • Excellent Negotiation skills & ability to draft contracts.
  • Being able to think and act strategically and yet being able to demonstrate excellent tactical acumen & problem solving skills in case of routine activities & escalations. Strong Technical mindset essential.
  • Excellent skills in using MS Office (Excel,Powerpoint,Word).
  • Exposure to ERP environment is a must. Experience on Oracle will be an added advantage.


Educational

and Industry

Background:









        • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering is essential. Master's Degree would be an added advantage.
        • 7-10 Yrs experience in Purchasing / Category Management of Capital Purchases at Regional (North America) &/or Global level is a must.
