A Brief Overview
The Research Psychologist is a doctoral level psychologist who serves primarily in a research capacity. This position is open to licensed psychologists, as some of the duties involve clinical activities that occur in the context of research. Duties may include: works under the mentorship of an established principal investigator to conduct research; develops own research with the guidance of the principal investigator; assists in the preparation of scientific publications and research grant proposals; collaborates and interacts with other researchers within the institution and at other institutions; serves as resource person for colleagues and as a mentor for less experienced personnel; may manage/supervise other research staff.

Once licensed psychologists are credentialed by Medical Staff Affairs and have privileges to practice, additional duties may include: delivery of psychological interventions or administration of psychological assessments within research protocols; clinical supervision of personnel involved in clinical research activities; consultation to community providers who are engaged in clinical research activities. Additionally, research psychologists may provide psychological services to patients and families within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (if applicable to role). Credentialed psychologists will be required to complete ongoing professional practice evaluations (OPPE).

About the Program

The Program in Advanced Imaging Research (PAIR) seeks a licensed psychologist or Pennsylvania license

eligible psychologist to join our team. PAIR conducts neuroimaging studies for young children through

adults, with the aim of characterizing brain development across the lifespan. We use

magnetoencephalography (MEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies to understand neural processes in neurotypical development and in those with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder) or elevated likelihood of developmental delays (e.g., in-utero exposure to substances). Studies include individuals with a wide range of cognitive ability, language abilities, and level of supports

needed in everyday life.

We seek a psychologist with expertise in neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism-spectrum disorder (ASD). The primary focus of this position is conducting developmental, cognitive, and diagnostic evaluations for phenotypic characterization of children participating in research studies. Families participating in our studies receive evaluation results and recommendations to support their child'sfunctioning at home and in the community through verbal feedback and/or written reports.

* Proficiency with autism diagnostic evaluation tools, such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), is required; ADOS-2 research reliability is a plus.

* Experience with developmental evaluation of infants and preschoolers is preferred

* Experience evaluating school-age children with intellectual disabilities and high supports needs is also preferred.

* Individuals with experience in providing behavioral intervention/supports to children on the autism-spectrum are also encouraged to apply, as this role could optionally include provision of neuroimaging scan supports to children and families using our inclusive neuroimaging ('INSPIRE') protocol, as well as opportunities to contribute to implementation and dissemination research in this domain.

The psychologist will work as part of a highly multidisciplinary team that includes psychologists, psychometrists, neuroscientists, imaging scientists, radiology technologists, and research assistants/research coordinators. Opportunities for training and clinical supervision of research staff and psychology trainees engaged in clinical research activities are also available. This position is in the Department of Radiology but includes linkages to the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, including requirement for Medical Staff Affairs credentialing and privileges to practice, as well as ongoing professional practice evaluations (OPPE).

• Represents self in the Hospital (e.g., title on ID badge) as a psychologist .

• Collaborate with DCAPBS and other Department/Division colleagues to on clinical research
• Participates in DCAPBS and CHOP committees in membership and/or leadership capacity
• Attends and participates in department/division/institution meetings appropriate for or required by role.
• Teaching
• Participates in education and training within the department's training programs. This may include providing clinical supervision, lectures, and facilitated learning experiences
• Establishes themselves as providing high-quality educational experiences for department trainees
• Contributes to interprofessional training activities and experiences
• Participates in activities of the training faculty
• Engages in Professional Activities
• Membership in national professional organizations, for example, American Psychological Association (APA)
• Active in multiple DCAPBS, CHOP, regional, and national activities
• Participates in the dissemination of psychological science and/or clinical care at a local, regional or national level

Education Qualifications

• Doctorate Psychology Required
