About the role

Job Title: Summer Intern - Engineering

Reworld is a global leader in providing sustainable waste solutions. The company's modern facilities convert waste from municipalities and businesses into clean, renewable electricity. Each day we're working to transform the very definition of waste. We've got the infrastructure, technology, and imagination to solve complex waste management challenges and help create a sustainable and more prosperous future for businesses and communities.

As a Reworld intern, you will work on projects that have a real impact on sustainability. Students with a genuine interest in developing a career in renewable energy, sustainability, and waste to energy technology are encouraged to apply!

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with project manager(s) to participate in safety, environmental, operational, mechanical, or boiler project(s), including troubleshooting, and identifying/making suggestions for improvements.
  • Identify reasons/providing solutions for Boiler Fouling (choked up - ash build up) - control fouling, air flows, and cleaning.
  • Breaker performance/testing, generator performance, power needs and production.
  • Environmental compliance - water testing, sampling, reporting.
  • Demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.
  • Present project outcome/recommendations for improvement at end of internship.

Who You Are:

  • Positive, motivated self-starter who can take an assignment and run with it.
  • Enrolled in an Engineering Bachelor's Degree program as a Junior or Senior

2026 Internship Start Dates:

  • Tuesday, May 26, 2026
  • Monday, June 8, 2026
  • Four-to-six-week project

Schedule: Monday-Friday average 8 to 10 hours per day. 6 or 7 am start time depending on the project to which you are assigned.
