Machine Operator

We are currently looking for a Turret Rewinder/Machine Operator to join our team. Experience is not required but always a plus.

- Compensation: Base hourly rate plus a $1.50 shift differential once you are trained and being working on 3rd shift.
- Schedule: 3rd Sunday through Thursday 9:45 PM - 6:00 AM. (Could be considered for other shifts should they become available.
- Training: Will be done on 1st Shift Monday - Friday, 5:45AM - 2:00 PM for about 2 weeks until ready to transition to assigned shift, must be ok with this.

- Paid Holidays: New Years and the day after News Year (MasonIR plant specifically), Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, plus 1 additional floating holiday.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
- Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
- Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
- Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
- Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
- Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Globetek).
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
- The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting
- May, on a continuous basis, stand for a long period of time and stoop, bend, and kneel frequently
- May handle, feel and reach for items in and around work area and continuously grasp product from a conveyor for up to 10 hours
- Moderate to frequent walking and lifting and/or moving up to 40 lbs. repetitively is required
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close & distance vision, ability to adjust focus, and ability to distinguish color variations, peripheral, and depth perception
- The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud
- Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed
