Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately counting and verifying all incoming and outgoing product loads, loading baskets and trays of baked goods onto route trucks, and ensuring product quality meets established standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and effective communication with supervisors and sales management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure working environment.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and communicate effectively.
  • Notify supervisor or manager of any issues related to overages, shortages, or product quality.
  • Accurately count and verify all incoming and outgoing product loads and returns.
  • Break down tray stacks of bread, muffins, and bagels, and arrange products for efficient loading and operations.
  • Process daily paperwork, including inputting adjustments, shortages, and overages, and verify loads using computer applications.
  • Communicate with sales management regarding daily activities.
  • Operate a DOT-regulated route truck if required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-1 years of shipping or warehouse experience preferred.
  • General understanding of warehouse principles.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to comply with DOT regulations and pass DOT physical and road test if operating a DOT-regulated vehicle.
  • Ability to lift and push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs. overhead.
  • Ability to stack products according to established procedures.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as climbing and twisting.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 years if operating a DOT-regulated vehicle).


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


Work Experience

  • 0-1 years of shipping or warehouse experience preferred.
