Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Control Manager in support of the TMAS2_96TW contract located at the Eglin AFB, FL.

The Configuration Control Manager ensures the 100% integrity and traceability of modified military test aircraft. You will oversee complex aircraft modifications, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems, serving as the central liaison between engineering, maintenance, and flight test personnel.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • *US Citizenship and Secret Security Clearance Required*
  • 3 to 10 years of experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Deep understanding of configuration management principles, practices, and military standards (AFI).
  • Familiarity with T-2 systems, aircraft instrumentation, and data acquisition hardware.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and data sets.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, estimate costs, and mitigate risks in a high-pressure flight test environment.
  • Strong verbal and written skills for presenting technical data to the CCB and senior leadership.
  • Must adhere to stringent administrative, security, and safety compliance protocols.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience with database strategies for tracking large-scale modification activities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous process enhancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain definitive configuration baselines for all modified aircraft, ensuring 100% documentation accuracy.
  • Lead the 96 TW Airborne Configuration Control Board (CCB), managing the end-to-end review and approval process for change requests.
  • Manage official T-2 modification files for Eglin-installed modifications (96th and 53rd Wings).
  • Maintain a "zero-error" standard for documentation to ensure successful configuration audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Streamline modification workflows and develop training programs for cross-functional teams on configuration control procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for program managers and senior leadership regarding aircraft configuration status.
  • Performance Goals
    • Update configuration baselines within 20 days of modification completion.

    • Process 100% of change requests within 10 days.

    • Maintain fewer than 2 discrepancies per aircraft per year during audits.
