Position Summary Under general supervision, exercise accounting control over university accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of accounting reports and/or reconciliations.
- Review and approve University expenses and expenditure requests.
- Advise the University community of the policies and procedures utilized by the Office of Business Affairs and State and Federal regulations.
- Respond to business office inquiries from the University community.
- Assist with the close of the fiscal year.
- Ensure that work assignments are completed timely and accurately.
- Process daily work as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance required
- Perform related duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in accounting and a minimum of two years' experience directly related to the duties specified or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and application
- Knowledge of computer-based accounting systems and software, including experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports.
- Ability to balance and reconcile a variety of accounts, financial reports and statements
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective oral and written communication skills.

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
- Work is performed during normal work hours, with some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.
- Work is sedentary in nature and at times requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
