Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement & Training Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company training requirements. This role focuses on implementing process improvements to enhance safety, quality, reduce cost and improve efficiency while managing the training compliance program for the plant.

What You Will Do:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cultural development through Continuous Improvement program implementation. Drive a culture of zero waste with 100% employee participation.
  • Drive Net Structural Savings through CI and deliver realistic savings opportunities, becoming the key driver to supply chain excellence
  • Track and report all ongoing cost savings projects and also maintain / forecast a list of ongoing and new ideas. Coordinate with the teams to follow up on the ideas and monitor, track and report progress.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) or other methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Analyze plant processes to identify opportunities for optimization while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.
  • Support site loss data capturing and analysis.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across operations.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, logisticsand EHS teams to ensure improvements align with safety and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs related to productivity, quality, improvements and cost savings.
  • Manage the plant's training compliance program to meet OSHA, DOT, Environmentaland other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure timely completion of all mandatory courses.
  • Report out on plant training compliance at scheduled intervals to leadership team and support addressing gaps.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for internal and external training sessions.
  • Conduct periodic audits of training records to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Coordinate with department managers to identify knowledge gaps and develop targeted training program.
  • Coordinate with department managers and assist in employee progressions for non-exempt.
  • Support IMS, Annual Management reviews, Plant strategy meetings and any internal and external audits
  • Manage employee onboarding program for the plant
  • Perform special assignments, as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6 years of experience in a manufacturing supply chain environment
  • 3 years of experience in training, coaching and leading cross-functional teams, including team building, understanding motivation and negotiation techniques, and providing work direction to others
  • 3 years of experience in working with the implementation and oversight of Operational Excellence Initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 years of experience with CI principals and methods (5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Visual Management and Kaizen)
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DOT,environmentaland other regulatory training requirements for chemical manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
