International Aviation Engineering, Testing & Validation Specialist Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:
- The International Aviation Engineering Testing & Validation responsible for execution and oversight of all engineering, testing, validation, and airworthiness activities. The individual examines engineering and technical processes to identify, execute, and evaluate improvements that streamline workflows, eliminate rework, and enhance quality and efficiency across acquisition and non-acquisition programs.
- The Specialist provides cross-program technical integration across Product Directorate Leads (PdLs), enabling data sharing, standardization, and application of lessons learned. Responsibilities include ensuring timely execution of airworthiness releases for all live aviation programs; developing engineering specifications, test criteria, and design parameters; and leading test oversight, planning, and preparation activities.
- The role includes preparation, review, and approval of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs); development of requirements packages; coordination on acquisition actions; coordination of technical and cyber issues; development of Price and Availability (P&A) inputs; and support to acquisition strategy development. The specialist conducts technical assessments, supports acceptance and airworthiness execution, and provides overall quality control across aviation programs.
- The International Aviation Engineering, Testing & Validation specialist conducts and oversees Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) and On-Site Acceptance Testing (OSAT) for international Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS). The individual develops and applies performance metrics aligned with military standards; reviews test documentation, plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria; participates in site visits and readiness reviews; analyzes test results; and provides formal recommendations to ensure validation of system requirements and training effectiveness.
Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems), Aviation Systems, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, aviation systems, testing, validation, or airworthiness support
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Aviation airworthiness release processes
- Engineering test planning, execution, and validation
- Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) and OSAT
- Development of technical requirements packages and CDRLs
- Coordination with acquisition organizations
- International TADSS programs and military training systems
- Demonstrated technical experience supporting one or more of the following:
- Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems
- Aviation TADSS sustainment and mission support
- Training, sustainment, and simulators for pilots and maintainers
- Aircraft platforms including UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, Huey II, H-47ER, AH-64E V6
- Simulator operations, instructor/operator support, O&M, new equipment training, pilot transition, and maintainer training
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
Nice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have):
- Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
- Certifications such as:
- PMP
- Six Sigma / Lean
- Agile or Systems Engineering certifications
- Aviation or airworthiness-related technical certifications
- Agile or DevSecOps certifications
- Software or systems engineering technical certifications
