Hourly Pay Range:

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
  • Location: Skokie Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

  • Rotate through a minimum of 3 workstations.
  • Supports communicating change for all the area of laboratory
  • Complete competencies of assign area in time,
  • Serves as technical resource for problem to help non-lab staff,
  • Supports inventory management,
  • Follow Quality control procedures and takes appropriate actions including effectively communicating with laboratory, nursing and administrative leadership. Documents actions taken following established SOP,
  • Supports performing, documenting and analyzing specific Quality Assurance performed throughout the year, and taking appropriate actions when indicated,
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and shows ideas for team work,

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree and the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
  • Certification: MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various Laboratory areas. Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel. Demonstrated effective communication and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others, proven initiative and above average job performance. Willingness to assume additional responsibilities of a technical or administrative nature.
