Industrial Maintenance Technician-MT0126 Job Summary The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and continuous operation of asphalt plant machinery and equipment. The position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of machinery used in the manufacturing of asphalt. The primary role of this position is to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and contribute to the overall productivity of the organization. Key Responsibilities * Equipment Maintenance o Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues or areas of concern in asphalt plant machinery and equipment. o Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems. o Execute preventative maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates at optimal performance levels. o Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, such as bearings, motors, belts, chains, sensors, etc. o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules. * Machine Setup and Calibration o Set up and calibrate production machinery according to specifications and production requirements. o Adjust and fine-tune equipment to ensure it meets quality and efficiency standards. o Collaborate with production teams to ensure machines are configured correctly for specific tasks. * Safety Compliance o Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. o Identify and address potential safety hazards in machinery and equipment. o Participate in safety training programs and maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety. Qualifications and Education Requirements * Minimum 1 year experience maintaining industrial machinery. * Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy. * Strong mechanical aptitude * Experience troubleshooting and resolving equipment and product quality concerns. * Ability to cut, weld and fabricate. * Ability to diagnose sources of trouble and use various hand tools, power tools, and machinery. * Responsible for maintaining stationary equipment including but not limited to conveyors, shakers, drives, drums, and screws. * Inspecting the condition of the machinery and documenting items in need of repair or service; diagnosing problems and performing mechanical repair and maintenance; replacing or repairing defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment; rebuilding or fabricating parts; reading technical manuals; and may order parts from central services or outside suppliers/vendors. * Possess basic computer skills and have the ability to read technical manuals and understand schematic diagrams. * General understanding of OSHA regulations and requirements. * Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work at heights of up to 100 feet * Ability to lift plant components up to 50 pounds and heavier * Must have the ability to stand, sit, kneel, squat, push and pull for up to 10 hours * Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment. * Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks. * Flexible availability to include overtime, weekends, and nights and will require periods of "on-call" time. * Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures.
