Position Summary
The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC.

The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily operation of the University's warehouse in support of Facilities Management and Residential Living, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control, and distribution of housekeeping, maintenance, and construction supplies, tools, and equipment. This position manages a formal inventory control system, prepares inventory replenishment estimates for state contract purchases, verifies incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, and ensures timely fulfillment of departmental requisitions. The role also supervises warehouse staff and operations, maintains appropriate stock levels and rotation, and manages surplus or damaged property in accordance with state requirements. Work is performed with considerable independence and is evaluated based on operational efficiency, accuracy of inventory records, and the effective stewardship of facilities and materials.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Considerable knowledge of warehouse management principles and practices, including inventory control, materials handling, and stock rotation. Ability to maintain accurate perpetual and physical inventory records, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare routine and periodic reports. Ability to analyze usage patterns and estimate the type and quantity of supplies, materials, and equipment required to maintain appropriate inventory levels, including items purchased through state contracts. Ability to interpret and apply purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance. Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse personnel and to coordinate daily warehouse operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and members of the general public.

High school diploma or equivalency and two years of supervisory experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
