Job Summary The Senior BI Analyst primary responsibility is the development of business reporting and analysis solutions. The Senior BI Analyst will identify high value processes and procedures then solution and develop datasets and reporting to give departments the necessary data to manage business operations, evaluate productivity and performance. This will require gathering data via querying from multiple systems, servers, and tables into manageable data lakes/views so that then reporting using Power BI can be created to assist the business. This role provides analytical leadership in the areas of portfolio performance, sales & marketing, pricing, delinquency trends, operational efficiency, and financial forecasting. The Senior BI Analyst partners with crossfunctional teams to ensure data accuracy, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive continuous improvement in business performance. Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops data pools that pull from varied sources to create streamlined reporting.
- Assists with migrating from other reporting platforms using SSAS, SSIS, Business Objects, and SQL to centralize data available in Power BI.
- Creates short-term and long-term reporting based from financial data.
- Investigates & analyzes data sources to identify relevant information for inclusion in our data solutions.
- Monitors the JIRA queue for intake of new projects and respond to tickets.
- Manages the intake and requirements gathering for Data requests.
- Manages the knowledge base for completed projects and technical documents related to projects.
- Performs administrative duties for the USPF Power BI environment.
- Performs routine maintenance and performance tuning as required.
- Develops, maintains, and enhances dashboards, reports, and performance scorecards.
- Produces recurring and adhoc analyses covering portfolio trends, concentration risks, production, finance, cancellations, and operational areas of the business.
- Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting environments.
- Translates complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Contributes to forecasting, scenario modeling, and stress testing.
- Analyzes operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Builds automated reporting solutions, including the enhancement of operational efficiency through BIdriven process automation.
- Partners with all areas of premium finance division to align reporting with business needs.
- Develops queries for portal and other initiatives for client consumption.
- Serves as a subjectmatter expert on data interpretation, metric definitions, and analytical methodologies.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, BI tools (Power BI/Tableau), and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Python or R for modeling and automation preferred.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and reporting best practices.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data insights to operational and financial outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively with other disciplines and all levels of management/staff throughout the organization.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Understanding of APIs.
Industry and Work Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data science.
- Experience in financial services required.
- Experience in commercial insurance or premium finance strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and complex data environments.
Academic
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
