Overview

Milton CAT is looking to hire a Machine Technology Technical Trainer (potentially a heavy equipment operator or diesel technician) with experience in site work, earth moving or heavy construction. The goal of the position is to provide our service technicians with education and knowledge and the correct usage of the industry leading technology features that are standard on Caterpillar Machines. Responsibilities will include teaching technicians to tune new machine performance, showcasing Caterpillar machine technology. A successful candidate will be knowledgeable in heavy equipment machinery and its systems, including basic hydraulics, power train, engines, grade control and electronics.

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000+, plus up to a 10% bonus, based on education and experience. Includes a company truck and gas card.



Responsibilities

    Training technicians how to use, test, tune and prep a machines technology before shipment to the customer.
  • Providing follow-up training upon Service Department request.
  • Presenting information to various size groups
  • Assisting in the creation of in-person and online service training materials.
  • Performing hydraulics, CAT ET and SIS training over time


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

  • Minimum of three years' experience in site work, earth moving or heavy construction
  • Experience as a heavy equipment operator or technician a strong plus
  • Basic understanding of heavy equipment machinery and systems
  • Training or public speaking experience a strong plus
  • Solid technology skills: knowledge of computers and related software
  • Highly driven and detail oriented
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to utilize company vehicle for travel to other Milton CAT locations as needed
