Marketing Manager - News
This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid contract role located in New York, NY. The schedule is Tuesday-Thursday in-office, Monday and Friday remote. Summary
This role supports a high-impact News Marketing team focused on elevating trusted journalism and building subscription growth. The News Marketing Strategist will work closely with the hiring manager and cross-functional teams to design, execute, and optimize global marketing campaigns that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. The position requires a highly reliable, proactive, and competent professional with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. - 6+ years of experience in marketing.
- Passion for media and subscription-based content with a strong foundation in campaign strategy and execution.
- Proficient in Slack, Keynote, Numbers, Airtable, and Quip, with strong project management and analytical skills.
- Familiar with marketing automation, audience segmentation, and digital performance analysis.
- Skilled in collaborating with creative teams, Product Marketing, and Engineering.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail.
- Curious, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement and results-driven marketing.
Job Description
In this role, you will design and execute campaigns across the News and News+ global marketing landscape to attract, nurture, and convert new customers while driving retention and engagement with existing subscribers. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to assess opportunities, guide planning, and help run marketing operations. This includes managing timelines, approvals, and project execution, analyzing campaign performance to feed insights into future plans, supporting post-campaign debriefs, and collaborating across the Apple ecosystem for cross-merchandising opportunities. You will also support continuous process improvement and optimization efforts to maximize campaign impact. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in marketing, media, or subscription-based businesses.
- 6+ years of marketing experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results.
- Experience analyzing campaign performance, designing A/B tests, and driving acquisition, retention, and expansion initiatives.
- Preferred: 8+ years of experience managing large-scale marketing programs for global brands and experience in subscription-based or content-driven businesses.

The pay for this W-2 position is $67.43 per hour.
