Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Web Content Design Strategist. This position is responsible for managing EMCC websites; overseeing the functionality of the website; evaluating and managing website performance, including ensuring compliance; coordinating hosting and server management; and developing, maintaining, and updating website content. This position works closely with other web experts at the college and across the Maricopa County Community College District, as well as with "clients" made up of EMCC faculty and staff, to ensure EMCC students have an enhanced user experience.

Essential Functions

30% Serves as a web content administrator, which includes but is not limited to: Publishing, maintaining, and reviewing new and existing content, working within the parameters of a content management system (CMS);

30% Optimizes website pages to ensure accessibility and compliance. Working with the Director and Copywriter, writes and reviews website content as needed with a strong attention to detail and experience editing copy; Works with faculty and staff to continually improve the EMCC website and its content, including providing consultations with faculty and staff "clients";

10% Support efforts to increase EMCC online presence and web performance; Takes primary ownership of search engine optimization (SEO) and online tracking mechanisms, including but not limited to creating tracking links to monitor online traffic (UTM, shortlink, etc.); creating and assembling results into, but not limited to, reports, email, and preliminary analysis required by stakeholders and departments within EMCC and Maricopa Community College;

10% Assists in using data to inform web advertising and marketing strategies; Uses various tools to gather analytics and inform marketing strategies.

10% In partnership with IT, troubleshooting and advanced administration of websites. Implementation of forms, policies, and procedures, and custom HTML code, JavaScript, CSS, as well as providing design and brand standard support on custom applications IT builds and manages as needed;

10% - Manages and schedules content for EMCC digital marketing assets including but not limited to marquis signs, digital signage, and other content management platforms: Researches industry standards, trends, best practices and emerging technologies and makes recommendations for implementation; Analyzes and generates user reports and troubleshoots technical problems; Initiates and maintains contacts throughout college; Other duties as assigned commensurate to grade-level of position;

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, graphic design, or related field and one (1) year of full-time equivalent website management experience.

OR

Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, graphic design, or related field, and two (2) years of full-time equivalent website management experience.

OR

High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of full-time equivalent website development experience.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered .

Desired Qualifications

1. Experience using a content management system and design software to create, design, and maintain website content

2. Experience with Drupal, Siteimprove, Google Analytics, and other relevant software applications, as well as a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.

3. Experience compiling, sorting, and articulating issues and recommendations for the development of web-specific policies and procedures, as well as monitoring adherence to compliance standards. This may include participating in stakeholder meetings, coordinating with IT, and working with other EMCC departments and the Maricopa District Office

4. Experience managing full-cycle web content projects, including coordinating deadlines, prioritizing competing demands, proofreading, and error correction

5. Experience maximizing search engine optimization and reporting on web traffic, marketing, and advertising activities

6. Experience working in a fast-paced, proactive atmosphere; demonstrating strong communication skills; and meeting deadlines while providing high-quality client services.

7. One year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years. This will be included as a Desired Qualification for all positions.

Special Working Conditions

Job involves working at a computer for long periods of time.
