Child Care Aides

Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for full- and part-time child care aides to assist the child care teachers with creating and managing a classroom environment conducive to the learning and safety of children enrolled at the center.

Duties include assisting with implementation of daily plans, activities and supervision of children; assisting children on the playground, during meals and on fieldtrips; and communicating with parents.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or the equivalent; excellent human relations and verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to work with small children. Preference will be given to applicants with one year of experience in an approved child care setting.

To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old; successfully complete a pre-employment medical report and criminal background check prior to employment; currently hold or be able to obtain infant and child CPR, ADA, and first aid certifications within 90 days of hire; and acquire MSDE credential Level 2 within one year of hire. Approval from the Maryland Department of Education, Office of Child Care is required.

This position is considered a mandatory reporter for the Department of Human Services. The full-time position works Mon. – Fri., 8: 30am – 5: 00pm. The part-time positions work Mon. - Fri., 07: 30 a.m. – 12: 30 p.m. Starting pay will likely range from $18.82 to $23.10 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
