Department Summary The Yanai Initiative for Globalizing Japanese Humanities in the UCLA Department of Asian Languages & Cultures was established in 2014 to realize a sustainable, equitable, globally interconnected future for the Japanese humanities. Its activities include the advancement of scholarship on Japanese literature and the arts; support for literary translation; public programs on performance, film, design, music, art, food, and architecture; and the creation of digital educational content. Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Director and the direct supervision of the Associate Director, the Fund Manager provides analysis and budgetary administration for the Yanai Initiative for Globalizing Japanese Humanities in the UCLA Department of Asian Languages & Cultures (ALC), a program with an endowment of $55 million with an annual operating budget of over $2.5 million in endowment income, contracts and grants, and sales and service funds. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring budgets, approving and processing purchasing-related transactions, completing financial reports, and supporting preparation of fiscal close in coordination with the ALC senior fund manager and CAO. This position provides a variety of professional support services including, but not limited to, fund management and ledger reconciliation, financial reporting and budget analysis, preparation and reporting of contracts and grants budgets, preparation of international agreements, processing of visiting graduate researcher (VGR) appointments and visa applications, and use of all pertinent databases. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range.
