Overview
Working in collaboration with the Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) Director, the Research Manager (Researcher III) will be involved in the planning and implementation of research and research-based resources that align with the overall mission and goals of the UWLP and its current initiative, A Bolder Way Forward (BWF). This includes research, writing, and editing; strategic project planning; team management; resource development and initiative design; grant writing; and involvement with other elements of the UWLP. This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.

Responsibilities
70% RESEARCH/WRITING/TEAM MANAGEMENT:
  • Manages individuals and teams of researchers and writers.
  • Researches, writes, and edits reports on a wide variety of topics surrounding Utah women and other related areas.
  • Works with the Director to create timelines and projections for producing long-term research efforts.
  • Identifies and works with community and state experts to ensure quality of research reports.
  • Works with Associate Director to find and update research metrics for BWF.

25% PLANNING, RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT, AND REPRESENTATION:
  • Provides input toward the overall strategic approaches of the UWLP.
  • Plans initiatives that align with Project mission and goals.
  • Manages communication with select UWLP partners, representing the Project as a key team member.
  • Works with Director in conceiving, planning, and overseeing special initiatives and programs, and creates and disseminates related resources.
  • In partnership with the Director, designs and implements the evaluation of research, programs, and other initiatives.
  • On occasion, delivers presentations on various topics within the community.
  • Represents Project to media outlets and community groups, as needed.
  • As needed, assists in planning and executing events and gatherings.

5% DEVELOPMENT (GRANTS & FUNDRAISING):
  • Works with the Director and Associate Director to explores grants that align with the Project mission and objectives.
  • Writes, edits, and refines grant proposals, as needed.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in social science fields, women's studies, business, communication, political science, or another related field of study.
  • Minimum of five (5) years research, writing, and publishing experience, with evidence of successfully managing projects and relationships.
  • Experience in quantitative/statistical analysis and/or qualitative research.
  • Experience with project management, public speaking, and public relations.
