Overview
Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world's largest online services. This position is a Subject Matter Professionalproviding key input to other organizations and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a professional electrical engineer with extensive experience in datacenter electrical engineering, design, construction, and operations. Candidate will be responsible for the technical review, analysis and coordinating the delivery of complex Datacenter electrical systems, associated controls, and overall topology. Responsibilities Responsibilities: The position is for a Subject Matter Professional who provides crucial input to other organizations and stakeholders. The candidate must be a professional electrical engineer with extensive experience in data center electrical engineering, design, construction, and operations. Responsibilities include managing, reviewing, and coordinating the delivery of complex data center electrical systems, power distribution systems, and backup power systems. The candidate will ensure consultants adhere to Microsoft standards and perform technical reviews and analysis of leased and colocation data centers from external providers for compliance with Microsoft requirements. Design and Design Oversight: The successful candidate will review Electrical design infrastructure for Lease DC project buildouts, special projects, and retrofit upgrades, addressing any issues during construction. They will assess existing facilities to ensure compliance with Microsoft standards. The role involves collaborating with partners, leading design work groups, and conducting cross-functional meetings for multiple projects.

Electrical Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
