Position Overview:

The IT Technical
Design Analyst I is responsible for researching, designing, and supporting
technology solutions that advance Broadway Bank's strategic, operational, and
customer-experience objectives. This role operates at the intersection of
business needs and technical delivery, translating functional requirements into
clear, actionable technical designs and solution architectures.
This role partners
closely with line-of-business stakeholders, IT Business Analysts, Development
teams, Infrastructure, and Application Support to evaluate emerging
technologies, prototype solutions, and produce technical blueprints that enable
scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise systems. The position brings a
strong business-process perspective to solution configuration and design,
ensuring technology initiatives align with regulatory requirements, operational
realities, and long-term architecture standards.
In addition to
forward-looking design responsibilities, this role supports the ongoing
stability, administration, and enhancement of core banking and enterprise
applications, contributing to both innovation and operational resilience across
the bank's technology environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Researches, evaluates, and maintains a pipeline of emerging technologies that may provide competitive advantage, operational efficiency, or enhanced customer and employee experiences.
  • Partners with LOB teams and IT Business Analysts to understand business challenges, document requirements, and translate needs into technical solution designs.
  • Develops technical design documentation, including system architectures, configuration models, data flows, and integration points.
  • Collaborates with internal IT teams and external vendors to influence solution direction, product capabilities, and implementation approaches.
  • Develops technology roadmaps outlining how and when new solutions will be deployed within the enterprise architecture.
  • Prepares business cases and technical assessments outlining solution benefits, risks, dependencies, and estimated costs.
  • Designs, executes, and evaluates pilots and prototypes to validate new technologies prior to production deployment.
  • Supports development and implementation activities, ensuring quality delivery, adherence to design standards, and effective handoffs to operational support teams.
  • Performs application system administration, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance for assigned systems, including core banking and imaging/workflow platforms.
  • Monitors daily processing for core banking applications, identifying and resolving break/fix issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and updates technical documentation, standards, and operating procedures as systems evolve.
  • Provides backup support for other application specialists and collaborates with infrastructure, security, and vendor teams as needed.
  • Participates in on-call rotations to support system availability and incident response.
  • Evaluates the enterprise impact of proposed technology changes across multiple business units.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by IT leadership to support operational continuity and strategic initiatives.
  • This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.


Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
    Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or another
    technology-focused discipline required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in IT project
    delivery processes, solution design, or application support within an
    enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with
    core IT systems, enterprise applications, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Hands-on exposure to technology
    implementation lifecycles, including requirements gathering, design,
    testing, deployment, and support.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to decompose complex problems into practical technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving aptitude with a structured, data-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of core IT systems, enterprise applications, and supporting infrastructure components.
  • Ability to research, evaluate, and apply emerging and disruptive technologies in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated creativity and flexibility, in developing and transforming enterprise solutions.
  • Ability to capture, document, and prioritize business and technical requirements effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Business acumen with the ability to interpret organizational strategies into technology priorities and design decisions.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build effective relationships across IT, vendors, and business partners.

Other Requirements:

  • Some
    travel may be required to support projects, vendors, or business units.
  • Availability
    during nights and weekends may be required to support system upgrades,
    implementations, or on-call responsibilities.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
