Pre-Apprentice Pipefitter (Harrisburg, PA)

• Assists in selecting type and size of pipe and related materials according (such as pipe hangers &/or supports) to job specifications &/or blueprints.
• Cut holes in walls, ceilings or floors for piping.
• Assists Pipefitter to install pipe systems.
• Secures pipes to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers.
• May disassemble and remove defective fittings, gaskets & broken pipes.
• Load, transport, unload and furnish Pipefitter with materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
• May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and workpieces during installation.
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• The ability to perform job tasks while maintaining public health and safety at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Perform a variety of duties which may often change.

• Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure.
• Evaluate information using measurable standards.
• Follow specific oral and written directions.

• High School diploma preferred and on-the-job training required.

• Visually see well (either naturally or with correction).
• Stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers.
• Use hands, arms, and fingers fully to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding; and work at heights as required.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl.
• Lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs, occasionally more weight.
