Title: Shop Foreman
Reports To: Service Manager
Pay Rate: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
This information represents our good faith estimate of the base salary range for this position upon hire, based on available data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on geographic location. Individual pay is determined by additional factors including job related skills, experience, applicable education or training and other relevant factors.
Position Overview:
Responsible for leading and directing service work performed by the service technicians through inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motorcoaches and other commercial heavy vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to service technicians in a safe, clean, and effective manner
- Timely scheduling and completion of mechanical service operations
- Floor direction of mechanics and service technicians
- Applying parts and labor to service orders accurately and in a cost-effective manner
- Ensure stories on the service orders accurately reflect the problem and work completed by clearly documenting Concern, Cause and Correction
- Ensure shop productivity and efficiencies meet shop performance for shop goals and objectives
- Provide written assessments of mechanical and overall condition of buses as requested
- Know, understand, and implement Company policy and procedures related to personnel and service operations
- Promotes safe work habits and a safe clean work environment, including enforcing established rules, work methods, and administer disciplinary action(s) when necessary to ensure compliance
- Maintains a working knowledge of local, State and Federal regulations applicable to shop operations and personnel including EPA, OSHA, DOT and Worker's Compensation and implementation of all company policies and systems
- Embraces and promotes ABC's customer service philosophy
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous managerial experience in an automotive environment, motorcoach preferred
- Able to read and understand specifications and schematics
- Current driver's license is required. Preferrable but not required, to complete and maintain the DOT requirements necessary to obtain a CDL class B license with passenger endorsement
- Requires good organizational skills to include the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and complete assignments within expected time frames
- Familiar with and proficient in the use of computer and systems for business application Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business ERP systems
- Preferred to have ASE, Cummins, Detroit, and Allison certifications

- Strong customer service skills and abilities
- Be able to multi-task and work independently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the company, its customers, and vendors
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures and follow directions
- Willingness to be flexible and productive
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (80-100% of shift)
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift
- Ability to work in and outdoors for extended periods of time
