Responsibilities

We're seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support mission-critical GEOINT capabilities across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal partners. In this role, you'll apply a multidisciplinary systems engineering approach to ensure geospatial intelligence solutions are reliable, resilient, and delivered on time to meet operational needs.

What You'll Do

    Apply systems engineering best practices across the full lifecycle, including requirements development, solution design, integration, testing, and sustainment.

  • Analyze and translate mission and user needs into clear system and capability requirements.

  • Develop and evaluate system architectures, ensuring traceability from requirements through implementation.

  • Design technical solutions leveraging emerging technologies and cloud services to improve performance, automation, and scalability.

  • Support systems integration efforts and assess operational impacts across enterprise environments.

  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments to inform decision-making.

  • Assist with strategic technical planning, risk management, performance engineering, and interface design.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of systems engineering best practices across the team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field, such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems
    - or 6 years' of equivalent professional experience as a Systems Engineer can be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 6 years' systems engineering experience in government or industry environments.

  • Experience supporting large, complex systems, including System of Systems (SoS) and/or service-oriented or cloud-based architectures.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition and engineering processes, including:

    • DoD / IC Acquisition Processes

    • Requirements Development and Management

    • Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES)

  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.
Desired Qualifications:

Technical Expertise

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts, tools, processes, and languages.

  • Working knowledge of modern software development frameworks and methodologies.

  • Experience with photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, GIS, geomatics, or related technical domains.

Mission & Domain Knowledge

  • Documented experience supporting geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) programs or missions.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the NSG, ASG, and/or NRO enterprise environments.

Certifications & Professional Involvement

  • INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification.

  • Active membership or participation in relevant professional organizations, such as:

    • ACSM

    • ASCE

    • ASPRS

    • OGC

    • SAREM

    • USGIF

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
