This position will be based at Ashburn, VA.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineering Lead to join our team in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. As the lead, you and your team will manage the design, administration, optimization, and security compliance of Cisco based wired networks and Aruba based wireless networks supporting multiple topologies, mission-critical services, and geographically distributed environments. Your role encompasses network management, patching, and expertise in security tools such as HBSS (Host-Based Security System), ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution), and eMASS (Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service). This position requires strong technical leadership, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work directly with government stakeholders to rapidly resolve outages and improve network resiliency.

Key Responsibilities:

* Technical Leadership: Lead and manage networking team to ensure adherence to established technical, security, and operational standards. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight while coordinating tasking, prioritizing workloads, and ensuring consistent execution of network administration, compliance, and troubleshooting functions.

* Customer Interaction: Work closely with customers to understand their network-related issues and provide expert guidance on resolution. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.

* Cisco Networking Device Administration: Administer and maintain Cisco networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other Cisco devices. Implement and optimize Cisco configurations to ensure optimal network performance.

* Network Management: Utilize network management tools to monitor, analyze, and maintain the health, performance, and security of the networking infrastructure. Implement changes and configurations to meet evolving network requirements.

* Patching and Security Compliance: Develop and implement patch management processes for Cisco devices in compliance with DoD guidelines. Utilize HBSS, ACAS, and eMASS to monitor, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in the Cisco networking infrastructure.

* Network Topographies: Demonstrate expertise in various network topologies, including LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations. Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network architectures to meet organizational requirements.

* Troubleshooting and Remediation: Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues within the Cisco networking infrastructure, ensuring rapid remediation. Collaborate with customers to troubleshoot outages and provide timely and effective solutions.

* Wireless Networking Fundamentals: Demonstrate foundational knowledge of Aruba wireless deployments, including Remote Access Points (RAP) and wireless controller-based architectures, to support secure and reliable wireless connectivity.

* PKI & Certificate Management: Possess fundamental understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate lifecycle management processes, including certificate issuance, renewal, and integration with network and security services.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 8+ years of experience and or a Master's with 6 - 8 years of experience. At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity

* Preferred 4+ years of networking experience

* DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Certifications for IAT Level III (CISSP, CASP+)

* Relevant OEM certification such as: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent

* Proven experience in the administration of Cisco networking devices in a DoD environment, including Cisco security appliances such as ASA and Firepower.

* In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), and switching technologies.

* Experience with network topologies, including LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations.

* Strong understanding of patch management processes and vulnerability remediation in accordance with DoD guidelines.

* Familiarity with security tools such as HBSS, ACAS, and eMASS.

* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve network-related issues efficiently.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.

* An active DoD Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.

* The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
