Responsibilities
Maintenance Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and operate within established maintenance operating budget and monitor departmental expenditures
- Direct all aspects of building operations including maintenance and repairs
- Vendor selection, budget management, and project management responsibilities for major projects and improvements involving process optimization, safety, quality, infrastructure, and energy use
- Manage work assignments in staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning of team members
- Present a commitment to high standards and the ability to inspire those qualities in others to the same high levels
- Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process problems. Serves as a resource for cause/effect analyses, investigations, and corrective action planning
- Develop and implement manufacturing flows, work station layouts and organization, which optimize value added operations, operating costs, and product/process quality
- Lead department efforts to provide technical training and guidance to management and team members
- Represent the company's position and interest effectively in dealings with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants
- Identify, propose, and implement process and continuous improvements
- Develop preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Develop and execute facilities plan
- Participate in capital and engineering projects related to the facilities
- PC proficiency and Maintenance systems knowledge (CMMS)
- Equipment specification, identification
- Acts in compliance with all company policies including, but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Food/Feed safety, Environmental, GMPs, and HACCP
- Other duties as assigned
This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates for the Maintenance Manager position should possess the following:
- Minimum five (5) years management experience in food plant maintenance. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related degree with advanced work in electrical and hydraulics preferred
- Understanding of electrical systems, PLC/computer operated automation, thermal management at a machine and facility level, and automated systems development and maintenance practices
- Knowledgeable of plant operations and production scheduling, as well as, knowledge of lean and 6 sigma principles
- Knowledgeable of environmental issues and OSHA safety guidelines, and be able to display independent judgement and initiative
- Excellent administrative and follow up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair programs
- Must have refrigeration system knowledge
- Must be computer literate; experienced in using computer software applications such as CAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superb time management and project scheduling skills
- Systematic decision making, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Leadership (delegation, coaching, confronting, conflict resolution, problem solving and providing feedback)
- Interpersonal skills (oral and written communication)
