Certified Pharmacy Technician - Hospital
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE Pharmacy Technician Licensure required Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Certification through NHA required. Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Director, Manager, Supervisor and/or Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Technician 3 must demonstrate competence in Chemotherapy preparation, knowledge of USP Chapters 795 (Pharmaceutical Compounding - Nonsterile Preparation), 797 (Pharmaceutical Compounding - Sterile Preparation), and 800 (Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs). A Pharmacy Technician 3 must be able to perform all Technician Level 2 job functions and maintain performance standards/expectations. Performs all other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Must be cross trained and able to work proficiently and independently at designated pharmacy locations To obtain and maintain a Pharmacy Technician Level 3 status, the pharmacy technician must demonstrate proficiency in Chemotherapy preparation, knowledge of USP Chapters 795 (Pharmaceutical Compounding - Nonsterile Preparation), 797 (Pharmaceutical Compounding - Sterile Preparation), and 800 (Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs).
