Senior General Interdisciplinary Engineer, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division Be the Difference Astrion offers comprehensive services that boost preparedness, optimize performance, and ensure success across various domains, from Cyber to Digital, Mission and Systems, servicing our nation's Civilian, Defense and Space communities. We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior General Interdisciplinary Engineer for the EPASS Cyber and Networks Directorate (EPASS HN II) contract, supporting the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Joint Base San Antonio, TX JOB STATUS: Full Time TRAVEL: Approximately 10% travel may be required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related engineering discipline
- Years of Experience: Ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD. Two additional years of directly related experience with proper certifications may substitute for the Master's degree.
- Current Required Security Clearance: DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance

- Engineer degree from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Experience in DOD System Engineering policies and procedures
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert advice to professional colleagues and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations
- Provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods
- Execute significant projects representing an important segment of the agency's operating programs
- Evaluate the value and applicability of new or improved technology, strategies, trends, or applications
- Investigate, predict, and anticipate technical issues and conditions extending beyond a single specialty area, and affecting known standards, approaches, or concepts
- Develop or collaborate in the formulation of new standards, applications, concepts, or theories
- Assess and carry out strategies and actions to affirm the integrity, economy, quality, and effectiveness of engineering or scientific programs
- Advocate recommendations, strategies, and actions to reconcile or resolve novel, conflicting, or controversial issues or policies
- Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system-level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance are achieved.
- Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved.
- Prepare technical documents that define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using the application of engineering economy principles.
- Perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems.
- Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.
- Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes.
- Perform problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, "Set-based design" for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA), and cost versus capability trade-off analysis.Implement Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across system Lifecycle.
