CNC Machine Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The CNC Machine Operator will set up and operate an Industrial CNC Router. A CNC router operator uses a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) router to cut various materials, such as aluminum, plastic, and fiberglass. Your duties as a CNC router operator are to program machine setup properly before beginning work, read blueprints as instructions for cutting, and operate the machine safely. The Machine Operator is also responsible for inspecting parts for dimensional and visual defects. This role will be based in our Accident, MD office reporting to the Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Set up and operate 3 Axis, high speed CNC router
• Select and maintain proper tooling
• Plans routing by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and required materials
• Programming cut sequence of router from AutoCAD drawings
• Maintain expected output on pieces per hour
• Maintain a functional, clean and safe working environment
• Work alone or as part of a team
• Overtime may be required in order to meet scheduling requirements

DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE

The ability to make decisions based on communication between Supervisor, Team Leader, Engineers and Teammates.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED certificate.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: (Training will be provided)

• Previous CNC Machining operation is a plus
• Working knowledge of machinery and measurement tools
• Experience in a job shop type environment is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to read Mechanical drawings
• Basic computer knowledge
• Knowledge using AutoCAD
• Ability to use hand tools
• Ability to use a calibrated tape measure and identify standard and metric units based on ticket requirements
• Ability to operate hand power tools
• Good organizational skills
• Must be able to work alone or as part of a team
• Must have very good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
• Must be able to follow detailed instructions
• Must be very detail oriented
• Must be able to maintain a clean, safe and functional workstation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $20.25 - Midpoint $25.32
