About our Summer Intern Program:

Located in Northeast Philadelphia, PA, the Kingsbury Internship Program is a summer program that provides interns with practical experience working on relevant projects while working within the Kingsbury Engineering Department, access to state-of-the-art equipment, a competitive wage, and in-house training.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Kingsbury, Inc, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with team members from Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Sales on relevant engineering projects.
  • Utilize current tools and skills to suggest improvements or future developments. This includes providing feedback to their manager regarding new ideas and improvements that can enhance functionality, efficiency and/or profitability of a design or tool.
  • Exemplify Kingsbury's safety mindset by complying with all safety requirements and acting as a safety ambassador.
  • Attend all company-required trainings and meetings (e.g., safety and department meetings).
  • Provides updates and feedback to the subject matter experts based on assigned tasks.
  • Oversee and maintain the quality according to Kingsbury Quality Assurance standards across Kingsbury products and processes.
  • Complete special projects, continuous improvement initiatives and all other duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be currently working toward an engineering degree from an accredited University or College recognized by the US Secretary of Education and/or US Department of Education.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates interest in design and analysis through school projects and hobbies.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor or ANSYS desired.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room environment. Working remotely is not available for this position.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other manufacturing and research facilities as well.
  • Travel and local commute between Kingsbury facilities and other possible non-Kingsbury locations may be required.
