Summary of Position

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner and or a Physician Assistant who specializes in cardiovascular medicine and complex imaging to provide medical services in collaboration with our cardiology physicians. Under supervising physicians, Advance Practice Providers must have hands-on experience, having supervised a minimum of 100 cardiac stress tests independently. Principal Accountabilities

• Obtain and document patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit.
  
• Conduct relevant physical exam and evaluate patient, documenting pertinent findings.
  
• Provide care for adult patients who have cardiovascular complaints and conditions.
  
• Conduct and supervise cardiac diagnostic testing.
  
• Order appropriate laboratory examinations or tests; interpret results.
  
• Establish diagnosis of cardiovascular ailments and formulate a plan of treatment, as well as assess the patient's response to therapy
  
• Diagnose and treat heart disease and manage chronic illness as part of a preventative maintenance program
  
• Enlighten patients and their families with regard to cardiovascular condition prevention and maintenance.
  
• Prescribe medication in accordance with New York State and federal law.
  
• Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
  
• Attend staff educational programs and meetings.
  
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
