DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position will provide clerical support to the Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) and Veterans Service Specialists (VSSs) in the Programs and Services section. Duties include reviewing applications for completeness and entering applicant information into the AIM database. The Clerical Assistant 2 will be required to call and/or send letters requesting additional documentation or information as needed. Determines when applications are fully developed based on checklists and established operating procedures, then sends applications and any related information to VSSs for adjudication. Answers and directs incoming phone call and provides customer service to veterans, surviving spouses, and dependents inquiring about programs, procedures, and application status. You will independently determine when calls should be elevated to VSSs or VSOs. Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:15 am to 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time, (5 days out of 10 days). Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements (NSRs):
- Candidate must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
