ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sealants Journeyman is responsible for the installation of sealants, caulking, waterproofing, coatings, and firestopping systems on buildings and ramps. This role requires travel throughout the assigned region to various construction job sites.

Starting pay: $28-$32 per hour depending on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Overarching understanding of jobsite safety, including proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to receive directions and complete a task within our scopes with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights safely.
  • Follow direction of the Field Supervisor and foreman and bring any problems to their attention.
  • Maintain a clean jobsite.
  • Fundamental knowledge of joint sealant installation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of backer rod installation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of waterproofing systems (liquid and sheet) installation.
  • Ability to mentor apprentices.
  • Perform a variety of tasks on the construction site.


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a skilled, safety-focused Sealants Journeyman with strong experience in caulking, waterproofing, and related construction applications. The ideal candidate is quality-driven, able to work independently in the field, and comfortable traveling to various job sites. This individual demonstrates strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work safely at heights while delivering consistent, high-quality work.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety requirements and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Professional attitude and ability to represent the company appropriately on all job sites
  • Quality-minded with strong attention to detail in sealant and finishing work
  • Ability to mix custom colors and apply caulking to precast panels (approx. 400 linear feet per day)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team to complete projects efficiently
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required for job assignments
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and complete tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of proper tools and equipment used for sealant, caulking, and waterproofing applications
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a motor vehicle; construction and precast experience preferred


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors year-round
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
