The Strategy and Analytics team is seeking an intern to support the company in better understanding and tracking the business landscape of LivaNova's core markets: neuromodulation and cardiopulmonary solutions. Corporate Strategy and Data Analytics team members have high impact and visibility across the organization, working on projects that shape commercial, marketing, clinical and/or R&D decision-making.

About the Role:

The primary focus for this role will be improving LivaNova's knowledge of the market and competitive landscape in our core markets. The intern will be responsible for developing strategic market insights through customer research and secondary data analysis, collaborating with business stakeholders, and communicating processes and findings. Furthermore, this person will conduct secondary and primary research to track competitive developments and industry trends.

The internship will include one core project and additional smaller projects/activities over the course of the summer, potentially including:

• Conducting qualitative and quantitative market research (e.g., healthcare provider interviews and surveys)

• Performing market and opportunity assessments

• Partnering with commercial leadership to understand business needs and challenges

• Synthesizing competitive updates and company earnings reports

• Conducting pipeline (new product) research and analysis

• Reading, synthesizing and socializing 3rd party reports and equity analyst reports

• Tracking industry dynamics and market trends

• Analyzing clinical literature and clinical trial results

• Analyzing various quantitative commercial and public data sets to inform business decisions (e.g., financial data, pharmacy and medical procedural data)

• Supporting the development of financial models

• Creating presentations showcasing insights and recommendations clearly and succinctly to senior leadership

About You:

A strong candidate does not need to meet all of the criteria below, and we encourage applicants who can bring additional skills and perspectives to apply.

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a Bachelor's program with a focus in the life sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering) and/or business/economics

• Experience applying various analytical and problem-solving approaches to real world problems and writing documentation and summary reports of your approaches and findings

• Passion for data and strong analytical mindset

• Enjoys working closely and collaborating with other team members

• Practical understanding of how analysis can be synthesized into insights that enable key business decisions and processes

• Eagerness to learn the industry perspective, dive deep into the business context, and a drive to understand the medical device markets in which LivaNova operates

• Creative problem-solving skills and openness to learn new approaches and technologies

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Proficiency/experience with the following software tools: Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel. Tableau, PowerBI, or other business analytics software are nice to have

• Prior experience in consulting, corporate strategy, finance, marketing, product management or general experience in the healthcare/medical device industry is nice to have

Travel Requirements

• Limited travel (less than 15%)

Time Frame

• 10-12 weeks, flexible between the months of May and September

Location

• Primarily remote position with a US-based team trip during the summer; opportunities for additional biweekly in-person meetings for candidates located in Austin (TX), Boston (MA), Minneapolis (MN) or Houston (TX)

Pay Transparency

• A reasonable estimate of the hourly pay range for this position is $25 - $30 per hour. Pay ranges may vary by location will be awarded based on experience.
