SUMMARY

The Assistant Superintendent plays a key role in driving field execution-partnering closely with the Superintendent to coordinate daily operations, lead craft teams, and ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to build hands-on leadership experience while contributing to the successful delivery of complex construction projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with supervision of craft personnel to ensure project is constructed by design, within budget and on schedule.
  • Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
  • Monitor personnel for compliance with safety and working procedures.
  • Advise Superintendent of all potential problems and assist in problem solving.
    Perform additional assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal journeyman carpentry training and/or supervisory training courses preferred.
  • 5+ years construction experience, OR 2+ years experience with 4-year degree
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of all safety requirements.
  • Ability to motivate employees and handle different situations.

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to perform the following tasks:

  • Coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers with full use of hands, arms and fingers.
  • See well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work at any height.
  • Lift and carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
